Updates and verification dates
“Facts checked” is the latest dated source or review of the hotel or rule facts on that page. “Page text edited” is shown only where we edited the page later without re-checking those facts. It is not a price or availability date. See how we check.
Site changes
- October 15, 2026: added the following.
- City, occupancy and brand indexes.
- An “Ask the hotel” script on each hotel page.
- Guides: rooms for 5 or 6, IHG Max occupancy, extra-person and rollaway fees.
- Anaheim and Las Vegas pages.
- A verified date on every page.
- Expanded method and about pages.
- October 16, 2026:
- Added Booking.com availability notes (Smoky Mountain Resort and nine other hotel pages).
- Corrected the method page: hotel photos are used and credited; not every page was second-checked.
- Relabelled dates that no retained file supports.
- Removed facts with no retained source (Bayard size and tub, quoted IHG kids-stay-free terms).
- Clarified published-maximum wording for Orange Lake and conflict rows.
- Shortened titles and meta descriptions.
- October 16, 2026 (later): added a note about asking for two rooms to 14 IHG room-card pages, a Vrbo home-page note to nine resort-type pages, a Viator and Discover Cars home-page block to seven Orlando, Anaheim and Las Vegas pages, a section on what IHG cards say about connecting rooms to the connecting-rooms guide, and a travel insurance checklist for five travelers sourced to NAIC and a state insurance department; corrected page counts on the home and about pages. No affiliate programme has been joined; the new links go to each company's home page.
- October 17, 2026: added a room finder and a site search (both run in your browser), a “last updated” date in the llms.txt files, structured-data and metadata fixes (home page marked as a website, hreflang, dateModified on every page). No hotel facts were changed.
About the October 16 dates
Twenty-six existing pages (and the new insurance checklist) show October 16, 2026 under “page text edited” because we edited them that day: 14 IHG room-card pages (a note about asking the hotel for two rooms), 9 resort-type pages (a Vrbo home-page link and note), 7 Orlando, Anaheim and Las Vegas pages (Viator and Discover Cars home-page links; some pages are in more than one group), the connecting-rooms guide (a section on what IHG cards do not say) and the rooms-for-5-or-6 guide (a link to the insurance checklist). The hotel facts on these pages were not re-checked that day; they still come from the sources and dates shown on each page. Their “facts checked” dates are unchanged.
